Harvard resident Nathan “Nate” Lee Schumm, 41, passed away Friday, Oct. 25, 2024, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m., Monday, Nov. 4, 2024, at the Stockham Community Church in Stockham, with Pastor Rick Bartek officiating. Interment will follow at the Harvard Cemetery in Harvard. Visitation with the family present will be Sunday, from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated later. Condolences may be left at www. suttonmemorial.com Nathan “Nate” Lee Schumm, of Harvard, the son of Diana Schumm Noack, was born Nov. 30, 1982, at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital in Hastings.

Nate was born and raised in Harvard, graduating from Harvard High School. He continued his education at CCC in Hastings, getting his construction technology associates degree. He worked for “Andy” Leichleiter Construction for 28 years. Nate was a member of Stockham Community Church, Harvard Wrestling program, Harvard chain gang, and Harvard Alumni. Nate had a love for spending time with his family and friends, especially with Macy, Elly, Jayda, and his many nieces and nephews. He loved coaching for the Harvard wrestling team, Husker football, Green Bay Packers, golfing, hunting, and helping on the farm. He was a true man of God—wanting to do everything the right way. He had a special soul, making an impact on everyone he met. He was shy and quiet, but heard by many. He had finally found the love of his life when he met Macy. His love for Macy and her girls, Elly, and Jayda, was unconditional.

He is survived by his fiancé, Macy Burback and daughters Elly and Jayda, all of Sutton; sisters, Kayla (Brian) Waterman of North Loup, Amanda Carruth (Ronnie) of Hastings, Kinsey Bates of Pleasant Hill, IA; brother, Codey Noack of Hastings; brother, Scott (Carly) Noack of Sutton; sister, Leela Woodhall of Colorado Springs, CO; nieces and nephews, Lettie, Max, Nasaya Waterman, Brynlee and Millie Noack, Ezekiel and Luana Woodhall; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and family.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Diana Noack; grandparents, Mary and Anthony Schumm, and many other family members.
