Former Sutton resident Larry Dale Nuss, 77, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024, in Oklahoma City, OK.

A service to honor his life will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, at the Federated Church in Sutton, with Pastor Edison Toe officiating. Inurnment will follow at the Sutton Cemetery in Sutton. No visitation or viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, a cause close to Larry’s heart. Condolences may be left at www.suttonmemorial.com. Larry was born Nov. 19, 1946. Larry’s life was marked by a dedication to agriculture, a field in which he earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Larry spent most of his career at the COOP in Sutton, contributing significantly to the local agricultural community. Additionally, he served as a volunteer firefighter, demonstrating his commitment to public service and community safety. His religious life was centered around the Federated Church and Zion Lutheran Church, both in Sutton, where he was a regular attendee.

Known for his good humor, Larry loved caring for his lawn, cultivating beautiful flowers, and traveling. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and friends, creating lasting memories.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Nuss of Oklahoma City, OK; daughter, Jackie Hartman of Elkhorn; son, Jeff and his wife, Rebecca Nuss, of Broken Bow; stepdaughter, Trisha Terry of Oklahoma City, OK; stepson, Bryan and his wife, Wendy Terry, of Perry, OK; sister, Sandy Fox of Raymond,; brothers, Jerry and his wife, Linda, of Grand Island; and Randy and his wife, Sally, of Stella, NE.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Wilma and Curtis Nuss; brother, Ray Nuss; first wife, Nancy (Matteson) Nuss; son, Joe Nuss; and nephew, Justin Ruhl.
