Phyllis A. Bartlett, 97, of Hastings passed away on Monday, Feb.10, 2025, at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings. Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025, at the First Christian Church in Hastings, with Elba Iris Nazario officiating. Burial followed at the Harvard Cemetery in Harvard. Phyllis was born on Dec. 11, 1927, in rural Harvard to Floyd and Edna (Brenneman) Lovgren. She grew up in Harvard and attended school there, graduating with the class of 1946. Phyllis married her high school sweetheart, Clifford Lyle Bartlett, on March 14, 1948. After which the couple moved to Aurora for a short time before moving to Hastings in the fall of 1948. She spent 40 plus years working for the Adams County Assessor’s office. Phyllis found joy in being active in her church for nearly 75 years, teaching Sunday school classes, attending church activities, and creating long-lasting relationships within her church family. She also loved spending quality time with her family and delegated herself as the family historian. During retirement, Phyllis and Clifford spent a lot of time telling the history of the Naval Ammunition Depot and the Harvard Air Base.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Anderson (Charles); son, Dennis Bartlett (Mary Lou); sisters-in-law: Margaret Lovgren and Althea Bugay; grandchildren: Jay Anderson (Melissa), Jeffrey Anderson (Mary), Jodi Wassinger (Tom), Jeremy Anderson, Jami Paulman (Travis), DanYel Hill (George), Kelly (Logan) Giger; great-grandchildren: Jillian, Lauren, and Sean Anderson, Skyler, Meagen, Hope, and Thaddeus Wassinger, Emily and James Anderson, Rhett Paulman, Quinten, Casandra, Colton, and Noah Roberts, and Daniel Davis Jr. (fiancé, Brittany Parker); and numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister, Bonnie; brother, Richard; and daughter-in-law, Kay.
