Former Sutton resident Doris LaVerne (Peterson) Gowen, 95, passed away peacefully on Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, at Old Mill Rehabilitation in Omaha. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Friday, Nov. 22, 2024, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sutton, with Rev. Tim Stacy officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, at Stockholm Lutheran Cemetery in rural Shickley. Visitation with the family present will be Thursday, from 4-7 p.m., at Sutton Memorial Chapel in Sutton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated later.
