April 1, 1937 ~ May 11, 2024

Bonnie Kae Mack, a loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully May 11, 2024. Bonnie was born April 1, 1937, in Hastings to Robert and Fern Figi, the eldest daughter alongside brothers, Fred and Bob. Kae graduated from Sutton High School in 1955 and continued her education at Doane College, graduating with a degree in history in 1959. On Aug. 2, 1959, she married Royce Mack, and together they built a life all across Nebraska, living and improving the communities of Hastings, Omaha, Valentine, Grand Island, Broken Bow, Loup City, and Elkhorn. For nearly 30 years, they wintered in Mesa, AZ. Kae’s career was as diverse as her interests. She served as a junior high and high school teacher, impacting young minds. She later transitioned to starting a successful real estate company with her husband, which provided brokerage, appraisal and property management for the residential commercial and agricultural sectors. Beyond these accomplishments, Kae was a devoted mother to her sons, David (wife, Linda) and Steve Mack, and had immense pride in her grandchildren, Jennifer (husband, Gage Gibney), Ryan, Nathan, and Noah Mack.

Recognitions followed Kae throughout her life. She was named Outstanding Young Woman of Grand Island, a testament to her vibrant personality and dedication to her community. Her love for dance and music added a touch of joy to her life and those around her.

A Celebration Of Life will be at St. Andrews United Methodist Church, 15050 W. Maple Road in Omaha, May 30 at 11 a.m., with a light lunch reception following the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Alzheimer’s Foundation in honor of Kae.
