The Sutton Fillies used their final regular season track and field meet as a tune-up event as the Fillies enter into the C-7 District meet at Sandy Creek, Thursday, May 9.

Sutton scored a total of 169 team points and gained 25 top-six performances both in field events and on the track.

The Fillies outscored second-place Heartland by 21 points to win the team title, 169-148, while High Plains placed third with 129 points, and the Aurora junior varsity squad fourth with 43 points.

Sutton earned a total of nine field event top-six finishes, with the two throwing events, the discus and shot put gaining three medals.

In the discus, Angelina Cloet claimed gold with a 95’ 7” throw, while Miranda Nuss placed fifth with a 77’ 2” throw. In the shot put placed Nuss third overall with a 28’ 4.5” toss.

Addison George and Kamryn Steinhauer finished in the top six, with George winning the event with a 4’ 8” jump, while Steinhauer was fourth with a 4-foot effort.

Elsa Andersen earned fifth place in the pole vault with a 7’ 6” vault, while in the long jump, Lincoln Friesen placed sixth with a 13’ 1.75” leap.

Kaci Yost placed second in the triple jump with a 30’ 5.25” effort.

On the track for Sutton, the Fillies gained 17 top-six finishes on the day, led by all three relay teams winning their respective events.

In the 3200-meter relay, the Sutton team, made up of Mia Ochsner, Kyla Griess, George, and Shepleigh Ohrt, were the only team in the event, gaining the win in 11 minutes, 40.1 seconds.

The 400-meter relay team, made up of Lindsey Ladehoff, Yost, Madylinn Bautista, and Katie Baldwin claimed gold with a winning time of 53.99 seconds, defeating second-place Heartland by five-tenths of a second.

Sutton’s 1600-meter relay team, made up of Reagan Robinson, Bautista, Jadlynn Kinney, and Baldwin earned the win with their time of 4:17.19, running past second place Heartland by nearly six seconds.

Individually, four, first place finishes were earned by the Fillies. Bautista won both hurdle events, claiming the 100-- meter hurdles in a time of 17.55 seconds, and the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.09 seconds.

Steinhauer and Andersen also placed in the top six of the 100-meter hurdles, with Steinhauer placing second with a time of 19.06 seconds, while Andersen placed sixth with a time of 20.49 seconds.

Andersen and Steinhauer placed third and fourth in the 300 hurdles, with Andersen finishing the flight of hurdles in 57.03 seconds, and Steinhauer in 57.29 seconds.

In the 200-meter dash, Baldwin led a group of four Fillies that finished in the top six, winning the event in 28.12 seconds. Ladehoff placed second in 28.66 seconds, while Yost and Friesen placed fifth and sixth, Yost in 30.17 seconds, and Friesen in 30.21 seconds.

Kinney claimed the girls 400-meter dash title with a winning time of 62.71 seconds.

Robinson finished second in the 800-meter run with her time of 2:29.34, while in the 1600-meter run, Ohrt placed third with a time of 6:23.06 TEAM SCORES: Sutton 169, Heartland 148, High Plains Community 129, Aurora JV 43.
