Sandy Creek and Sutton’s FFA Chapters attended the Nebraska State Convention last week, with many students coming home with medals and their state degrees.
In between announcing winners, students had the chance to attend leadership academies, sessions, compete in contests, and volunteer.
Earning their state degrees were, from Sandy Creek: Ethan Shaw, Jacob Petr, Kaelyn Crumbliss, Brooke Dooley, and Connor Rempe; and from Sutton: Lily Griess, Lindsey Ladehoff, Jadyn Friesen, Montana Dietz, and Leah Cool.
SANDY CREEK
• Meats Evaluation team, consisting of Jacob Petr, Ethan Shaw, Christian Shaw, and Connor Rempe, placed fourth overall as a team, while individually, Ethan Shaw and Petr tied for 14th place; Christian Shaw was 19th, and Rempe was 26th.
• SC Ag Sales Team, consisting of Ava Hubl, Kinsli Bolte, Madalyn Andersen, and Paige Stengel, placed ninth as a team overall; individually, Hubl placed 11th.
• SC Agronomy team, consisting of Wes Biltoft, Jackson Gerdes, Josh Spray, and Alex Watts, placed 47th out of 60.
• SC Agriscience team, consisting of Caitlyn Biltoft, Ella Crumbliss, Harper Lange, and Jade VonSpreckelsen, placed 41st out of 133.
• Jacob Petr received a silver award in Employment Skills; Bindi Senske received a bronze award in Creed Speaking; and Cailee League received a bronze award in Junior Public Speaking.
SUTTON
• Agriscience competition: Eli Ladehoff, blue ribbon; Grethe Andersen, blue ribbon; and Aniston Jasnoch, red ribbon.
• Farm & Agribusiness Management competition: Lily Griess, purple ribbon; Jadyn Friesen, blue ribbon, and Lindsey Ladehoff-red ribbon.
• Food Science & Technology competition: Shannon Althouse, red ribbon.
• Senior Livestock Evaluation: Nathan Griess, purple ribbon and Laurel Moore, blue ribbon.

• I Believe in Future of Ag contest: Sutton FFA Chapter earned ninth place.
• State FFA Choir: Lindsey Ladehoff, Eli Ladehoff, Kayce Dietz, Julie Smith, Creighton Jones, and Breckyn Peterson. Peterson was selected to perform a solo.
