The Sandy Creek girls track team achieved an eighth-place finish during action at the Thayer Central Invitational Thursday, April 3, in Hebron.
The Cougars totalled 30 points, all of which were earned in running events.
Freshman Carrigan Rempe contributed significantly by scoring 22 of these points. Rempe secured first place in the 100-meter hurdles, with a time of 17.45 seconds, and the 300-meter hurdles, with a time of 49.74 seconds.
Additionally, Rempe placed fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 65.32 seconds, while Addisyn Sweeney of Cedar Bluffs claimed first place with a time of 60.71 seconds.
Fellow freshman, Madison Shaw, another key scorer for the girls’ squad, achieved a second-place finish in the 1600-meter run, clocking in at 6:20.77. Isabelle Peters of Tri County won the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:51.83.
