Sutton golf opens season by winning home quad over Superior

The Sutton golf team jump-started the 2025 season with a quadrangular tilt against Fillmore Central, Superior, and BDS, with the Mustangs coming away with the team win, beating second-place Superior by 22 strokes, 168-190, during the nine-hole outing at the Fox Hollow Country Club, Tuesday, March 25.

Pacing the Mustangs was the senior duo of Harrison Herndon and Jadyn Friesen, as both carded scores of 38 to finish first and second overall.

Senior teammate David Fonseca finished sixth overall with a 43, while senior Brayden Griess shot a 49, and senior Aidan Jones, a 54, to finish out the varsity scoring.

For the Mustangs junior varsity team, Wyatt Pollet scored a 46, Billy Marshall a 59, and Cale Nuss, a 70.

Team scoring, following Sutton and Superior, placed Fillmore Central’s varsity one stroke behind the Wildcats with a 191, while BDS finished with a 202.

Sutton’s JV squad shot a 256, with BDS’s JV team shooting a 260, Fillmore Central’s JV team shot a 187, and Superior’s JV team shot a 316.
