The Sandy Creek boys’ track and field team placed second as a team during the first track meet of the 2025 season, in action at the Sutton Invite, Tuesday, March 25 with a total of 74 team points, only to trail the Heartland Huskies who won with a total of 136.5 team points.

In the field events, Sandy Creek scored multiple points, as Jack Watts took first in shotput with a throw of 48’8.5”, while in the discus, Hudson Devlin came first (146’2”), Jack Clark second (139’), and Christian Shaw third (131’4”).

Wes Biltoft placed third in high jump (5’8”). Kamerin Sealey finished fifth in the triple jump (37’6.75”).

On the track, Ethan Shaw secured first place in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.88 seconds, while Wyatt Hemberger finished third in the same event with a time of 18.30 seconds.

Hemberger also achieved second place in the 300-meter hurdles, clocking in at 45.16 seconds, while winning the 300-meter hurdles was Connor Hinrichs of Sutton with a time of 43.52 seconds.

The Cougars’ 400-meter relay team, consisting of Schmidt, Ethan Shaw, Hemberger, and Livgren, finished in second place with a time of 47.23. Winning the 4x100 was Heartland with a time of 44.72 seconds.

Additionally, the 1600-meter relay team, comprising Hemberger, Alston Clark, Biltoft, and Alex Watts, finished in sixth place with a time of 3:56.38, and winning the 4x400 relay was Heartland with a time of 3:34.12.
