Rempe has strong day in 2 hurdle events, SC scores 41.5 points
The Sandy Creek girls track team finished in fifth place during the opening track and field meet of the 2025 season, the Sutton Invite, Tuesday, March 25, as the Cougars totaled 41.5 points.
Winning the girls division was Osceola with a total of 108 points, followed by Hastings St. Cecilia with 105 team points.
In field events, Caitlyn Biltoft tied for fifth in high jump clearing 4’8”, and Anna Paus took second in pole vault clearing 9’.
Running events featured Carrigan Rempe winning the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.05 seconds. Rempe also secured second in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 49.54 seconds, behind Addison Theis of Osceola, who won with 49.05.
Paige Stengel placed fourth in the 1600-meter run with 6:26.72, while Tara Buzek from Heartland won the four-lap race with a time of 5:44.36.
The Cougars’ 1,600-meter relay team, made up of Emma Fisher, Stengel, Rempe, and Paus, finished first with 4:22.68.
