The trio of Allee Jarzynka, Tabi Forney, and Abi Conover earned third place for girl’s teams at the Class D State Powerlifting competition at Harvard March 22.

Jarzynka placed second in the 105 weight class; Conover placed second in the 148 weight class; and Forney placed fifth in the 148 weight class.

Medaling on the boys team, in the 123 weight class, Pedro Perez placed second; and Ethyn Whetstine-Jones placed second in the 148 weight class.

Also placing for the boys in the 148 class were Brexton Kobza, seventh, Eddy Perez, eighth, and Ethan Porter, 10th. In the 165 weight class, Blayden Porter placed eighth; in 181, Micaiah Niemoth placed 10th; in 198, Sebastian Rodriguez placed sixth; and in 242, Jett Zeckser earned sixth.

There were 12 flights of competition, as athletes attempted to complete a squat, bench press, and deadlift in various weight classes.

Overall in boy’s teams, Amherst earned third, Niobrara-Verdigre earned second, and Centura earned first.

In the girl’s teams, after Harvard’s thirdplace finish, Boyd County earned second, and Niobrara-Verdigre placed first.

In co-ed teams, Fullerton placed third, Boyd County placed second, and Niobrara- Verdige placed first.
