The highly-talented Freeman Falcolns brought the Sandy Creek Cougars basketball season to a screeching halt Monday, March 3. The Falcons gained a 52-32 victory over the Cougars to end the season for Sandy Creek with a 15-11 overall record in the C2-1 District Final in Adams.

Freeman advanced to the Class C-2 state tournament as the top-seeded team in this weekend’s tournament with their 24-1 record.

Freshman Kamerin Sealey paced the Cougars offensive efforts with 11 points, while seniors Ethan Shaw and Jack Clark followed, with Shaw scoring nine and Clark hitting for six.

Overall, the Cougars shot just over 34 percent from the floor, making 12 of 35 shots, while connecting on three of nine foul shots (33.3%).

The Falcons opened the game with a 20-9 run in the first quarter and gained a 34-17 halftime lead before outscoring Sandy Creek 18-17 in the second half to secure the 20-point win.

Shaw gained a team-high seven rebounds and dished out three assists.
