Following a day of interviews for a potential new superintendent Dec. 11, the Sutton School Board has hired Jason Cline as SPS’s superintendent effective July 1, 2025. Cline is the current superintendent at Lakeview Community School District in Columbus. SPS Board members interviewed four candidates, which board president Jim Jones Jr said were all great options. He added how they’re happy to have Cline and his family join them in Sutton, and excited for a permanent person in the position. Jones said that the Nebraska Association of School Boards (NASB) did a nice job leading them through the hiring process and helping get applicants.
In the meantime, Cline will work with interim superintendent Brad Best as they finish the school year is out.
Jones said Best has done a great job serving in the role as superintendent.
