In the opening-season girls basketball game, Harvard hosted Giltner, falling short 11 points of a win Dec. 6.
In the first period, Giltner scored 13 points over Harvard’s seven, and ended the first half with a sevenpoint lead, 11-4. The second half began with a 24-11 Hornet lead, as both teams hit double digits in scoring. Harvard gained 12 points, while Giltner earned 18 as they headed into the final period 42-23.
The Cardinals outscored Giltner in the final period, earning nine points over Giltner’s one, which came via a free throw.
Tabi Forney earned a teamhigh 25 points, making 12 of 24 shots (50%). Haley Gimpel and Brianna Wells earned the remaining points with four and three, respectively. Gimpel was 2-6 in shooting while Wells was 1-5.
On rebounds, Forney also led with 10 defensive rebounds and two on offense, while Abi Conover had five total, three on offense and two on defense.
Rounding out the rebounds were Gimpel with five and Wells with two, for a total of 25 rebounds as a team.
Gimpel led with nine assists, also earning two steals alongside Allee Jarzynka who also had two.
From the foul line, Harvard made one of three, compliments of Wells.

Harvard was home Tuesday, hosting Palmer before hitting the road Dec. 12 to take on Franklin. A time against the Franklin Flyers is to be determined.
On Dec. 14, Harvard is set to host Axtell, with tipoff set for 3:30 p.m.
