Kicking off their way to state Monday morning was a send off complete with an escort from Sandy Creek through Clay Center to Highway 6 by county officers, Clay County Emergency Management, Clay Center Fire and Rescue, and several family, friends, and community members of the football team. Sandy Creek players burst through the Cougars banner while being announced at the start of Monday’s championship game at Memorial Stadium in Lincoln.
