Sutton Community Home has a new director of nursing (DON) and assistant director of nursing (ADON), and the faces are familiar around the community.
Kelli Griess, DON, grew up in Sutton and worked as a CNA her senior year of high school.
Her involvement in healtcare continued into college, where she worked in longterm car, home care, and psych.
She graduated from Creighton School of Nursing in Hastings with her BSN, and worked for one year in psych before joining the Air Force in 2004 as a labor and delivery nurse.
She has since worked in hospice, assisted living, and an adult psych/dementia unit, but mostly in long-term care.
Griess has been with SCH for 12 years.
Juliann Marburger, ADON, grew up in Harvard and has always had a love of helping the elderly; oftentimes she volunteered at her local nursing home as a candy striper.
She graduated from Harvard Public School and has worked in long-term care for most of her career, starting off in laundry, dietary, and housekeeping.
Then, Marburger received her CNA and MA in 2002, followed by her LPN in 2007.
Over the years, she has worked at SCH in many capacities, including charge nurse, MDS, and infection prevention. She returned in 2021 as the MDS coordinator.
A DON/ADON have several responsibilities, including but not limited to being responsible for the quality of patient care and services.
