Week eight of the Clay County News’ “Pigskin Picks” football contest came down to a tie-breaker between Kevin Griess and Randy Ahrens to take home this week’s $20 gift card to Sutton’s Post-61 Club.
Griess and Ahrens both missed three picks, with Griess predicting that the Texas-Georgia game would combine for 60 points, while Ahrens guessed that 61 points would be scored. Georgia dinged the Lonhorns 30-15 to total 45 points, giving Griess the win over Ahrens by one point, with Griess missing by 15, and Ahrens, 16.
Todd Hofmann and Matt Maser both missed four games to finish behind Griess and Ahrens to round out the top four during the week eight contest.
