Sutton resident Bruce Edward Domeier, 73, passed away Friday, Oct. 4, 2024, at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings.
Funeral Services were conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2024, at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sutton, with Rev. Tim Stacy officiating. Interment followed at the Sutton Cemetery. Condolences may be left at www. suttonmemorial.com Bruce was born April 4, 1951, in Hastings, to Dean and Deloris (Unterseher) Domeier. He received his education in Sutton and graduated from Sutton High School in 1969. He furthered his education at Wayne State College for one year prior to attending trade school in Omaha. He enlisted in the United States Army June 11, 1971. Bruce served in the Army, Army Reserves, and Army National Guard, receiving numerous awards and decorations. He married Diana Kay Burge July 20, 1974, in Blue Hill. Bruce was employed as a mechanic with Gordon Gowen and later with the gas company, retiring after 34 years of service.
Bruce was a member of the Sutton Volunteer Fire Department from 1981 until 2009. He enjoyed coaching baseball, umpiring baseball and softball, refereeing basketball, and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Diana of Sutton; children, Trisha Dietz of Sutton, Renae (Chad) Hart of Ashland, Brock (Brandee) Domeier of Shickley, and Kiley Domeier of Sutton; grandchildren, Jadyn Sharp, Shelby Dietz, Madison Hart, Montana Dietz, Keegan Domeier, Tatum Hart, Aiden Domeier, Kayce Dietz, Aubrey Domeier, Reed Hart, and Piper Hart; beloved dog, Hope; sisters, Debra (Larry) Meyer of Hastings, Vicki (Rick) Alexander of Grand Island, and sister-in-law, Jan Domeier of Hastings.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry Domeier; and in-laws, Calvin and Ardyce Burge.
