With the completion date of the major Burlington Northern/Santa Fe railroad overpass project nearing a full completion, anticipated Tuesday, Oct. 15, Clay County Highway Superintendent Tom Roemmich Jr. shared that several other projects are nearing completion following the recent spring and summer construction season.
Project updates include:
• Project #321, located on Road U, is also nearly complete. The new box culvert and the roadway grading is complete. The county was placing rock and gravel surfacing Monday, Sept. 30, and will be open to the public by Wednesday, Oct 2; and
• Project #345, located on Road X, between Roads 311 and 312 is scheduled to start in mid-November. According to Roemmich, that project consists of replacing the existing bridge structure with a new concrete box culvert.
Other Projects that were completed this year were:
• Project #342, which consisted of tree removal, ditch cleaning, culverts and driveways, and roadway grading for one mile on Road 325, between Roads X and W, as well as, replacing a deteriorating bridge structure with 1- 9’6” x 6’5” x 50’ metal culvert;
• Project #343, which consisted of tree removal, ditch cleaning, culverts and driveways, and roadway grading for one-half of a mile located on Road 325, between Roads S and T, and replacing a deteriorating timber bridge structure with 2- 7’1” x 5’1” x 50’ metal culverts; and
• Project #234, which consisted of tree removal, ditch cleaning, culverts, driveways and roadway grading for four miles of Rd K from Hwy 6 to Rd 313.
