Fillies golf enters C-1 District meet Oct. 7

Sutton in field of 16 teams in Lincoln Monday

The Sutton Fillies golf team, who has had a stellar season in year three under the direction of coach Sam Newmyer, will put their successes of the 2024 regular season to the test on Monday, Oct. 7 when the Fillies head east to Lincoln’s Hidden Valley Golf Course for action in the C-1 District meet, hosted by Lincoln Christian High School.

Hidden Valley is located at 10501 Pine Lake Road; tee off is set at 9 a.m., on the Lincoln course.

Teams competing for a trip to the Class C State Championships with the Fillies include: Ashland- Greenwood, Auburn, BDS, EMF, Elmwood-Murdock, Fairbury, Heartland, Humboldt-Table Rock-Steinauer, Johnson County Central, Lincoln Christian, Lincoln Lutheran, Palmyra, Superior, Syracuse, and Tri County.

The Class C state tournament will be Monday, Oct. 14, and Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Lake Maloney Golf Club, south of North Platte, located at 608 Birdie Lane. The state meet will see action starting at 9 a.m. each day.
