Three donations of $500 each were gifted to the Glenvil Community Club, Fire Department, and Legion/ Auxiliary from Dan Brandenburger, Donna Wilton, and Wayne Kalvoda, in memory of Marlyn Fike.
Fike was a huge supporter of tractor pulls, and started the event at Old Trusty and Platte Valley Antique Machinery Association.
He, along with some friends, also built the Fairfield Coop sled seen at the tractor pulls. Before his passing, Fike gifted the sled to Old Trusty and Platte Valley, with the intent the sled is only used at those two events.
During this year’s Maryln Fike Tractor Pull in June, Brandenburger, Wilton, and Kalvoda had to get permission from those two organizations to use the Fairfield Coop sled, which they were granted.
Last year was the first Fike memorial tractor pull in Glenvil, and the funds were given to his wife, Alice.
This year, since the town allowed the trio to host the tractor pull, they thought it would be nice for the town to benefit from the funds.
Their plan, as long as they have the tractor pull in Glenvil, is to donate funds back to the three organizations.
At the current moment, the next memorial tractor pull is set for June 28, 2025.
