pitcher Cody Funk, and solid hitting efforts by Alex Watts, Wyatt Livgren, Wyatt Hemberger and Kam Sealey, the South Central Junior Legion baseball team picked up their second win of the 2024 season, downing Friend 9-1, Sunday, June 30 in Fairfield.

Funk’s night on the hill produced five strikeouts against no walks, while tossing 76 pitches, including 50 total strikes for the Post 256 Juniors.

The win improves South Central to 2-6 as the season draws closer to the post-season.

Watts and Sealey both powered out triples in the win, as Watts was 2-2 at the plate with three runs driven in, while Sealey drove in one run while going 1-3 at the plate.

Livgren was 2-3 with a pair of singles, while Hemberger drove in a run, while connecting for a pair of singles in four trips to the plate.

Adding the hitting mix was Dayne Clark, going 1-2 with three runs driven in, while Dominic Page connected on a single during his three trips to the plate.
