Harley Fassnacht, age 93, of Aurora, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023, at Memorial Hospital.

A Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 25, at the Messiah Lutheran Church, 415 South 18th Street, Aurora. Rev. Rudy Flores will officiate. Private family inurnment will be in the Geneva Cemetery. No Visitation. The service will be livestreamed on the Messiah Lutheran Facebook page. Harley Paul Fassnacht, the son of Harley Roscoe and Bertha Ella (Roemer) Fassnacht, was born on the family farm in York County, Nebraska on Aug. 12, 1929, and passed away at Aurora on Feb. 15, 2023, at the age of 93.

Harvard resident Kim Elaine Haseloh, 65, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, with her loving husband by her side at the Kensington in Hastings.

Sutton resident Terry R. Hemmingson, 73, passed away Saturday, Feb. 11, 2023, at his home in Sutton.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 17, 2023, at Zion Lutheran Church in Sutton, with Rev. Tim Stacy officiating. A time of fellowship will follow the service at the church. In honoring his wish to be cremated there will not be a visitation or viewing. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated later. Condolences may be left at www. suttonmemorial.com. Terry Hemmingson was born Oct. 19, 1949, in Canton, SD, to Elbert Orlando and Hattie Frances (Taute) Hemmingson. He received his education at Lantaff Country School through elementary and graduated from Canton High School in 1967. He was a member of the FFA and served in the Air National Guard for six years in Sioux Falls, SD, at Joe Foss Field. He farmed near Beresford, SD, and drove semi.

Harvard resident Docia Fern (Osborne) Wilson, 65, passed away after an extended illness Monday, Jan. 30, 2023, at her home in Harvard.

Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Friday, Feb. 3, 2023, at the Stockham Community Church, with Pastor Paul Nauman and Pastor Rick Bartek officiating. Graveside services took place at 2 p.m., Friday, at the First Evangelical Cemetery near Harvard. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated later. Condolences may be left at www. suttonmemorial.com Docia was born on Feb. 11, 1957, in Friend, to Art and Carol (Chase) Osborne. She attended grade school and high school in Aurora,. Docia met the love of her life, Bob Wilson, in Harvard and they were married on Jan. 7, 1978. They knew instantly they were meant to be together, this proved to be true as they were lovingly married for 45 years. Three children came from this life-long union.

Karina Meigh Marolyn Chessmore, 38, finished her earthly journey Friday, Jan. 6, 2023, in Wichita, KS.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at the Clay Center Christian Church, with Pastor Arick Johanson officiating. Lauri McDonald, 59, of Neola, IA, passed away Sunday, Jan. 29, 2023, at her mother’s home in Clay Center.

LaDawn Ann (Weber/Wiedel) Bruening of Hebron, the daughter of Larry and Marie (Cook) Weber, was born Jan. 20, 1955, in Geneva. She departed this life Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023, at Thayer County Health Services in Hebron at the age of 67 years.

Dawn grew up in the Sutton and Geneva area, attending school and graduating from Geneva High School with the class of 1973. She continued her education at Lincoln School of Commerce College. Dawn married Alan Wiedel Aug. 15, 1976, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Geneva. This union was blessed with two children. She worked in Hebron at First Federal Lincoln Savings and Loan and Thayer County Bank before moving to Geneva where she worked at the Youth Rehabilitation Center. She then moved to Papillion, working at Pinnacle Bank and the Department of Motor Vehicles. Dawn retired in 2019 and moved back to Hebron.

Former Clay Center resident Donald Vit “Don” Wolfe, 89, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, at Central Nebraska Veterans Home in Kearney.

Rosary took place at 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 22, at Butler Volland Chapel. Memorial Mass was held at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Harvard, with Father Denton Morris officiating. Burial with military rites by Fairfield American Legion was at Fairfield Cemetery in Fairfield. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
