Sutton resident Morris M. Griess, 80, passed away Sunday, Dec. 24, 2023, at CHI Health St. Elizabeth Hospital in Lincoln.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 30, 2023, at Sutton Memorial Chapel, with the Free German Reformed Salem Church Elders officiating. Interment followed at the Free German Reformed Salem Church Cemetery near Sutton.

Condolences may be left at www.suttonmemorial.com. Morris was born May 3, 1943, in Aurora to Martin J. and Esther (Griess) Griess. He received his education in Sutton and graduated from Sutton High School. On Aug. 26, 1964, he was united in marriage to Talitha Huber and to this union, three children were born, LaRoy, Sandra, and Jennifer. Morris was a lifelong farmer in the area.
He is survived by his wife, Talitha; son, LaRoy and friend, Dixie; daughter, Sandra (Paul) Dunning; sister, LeAnna Huber; sisters-in-law, Luella (Bob) Griess; Sinobia Dolezal; Salome (Gerry) Nuss; Gloria (Dave) Ellis; five grandchildren; and stepmother- in-law, Marie Huber.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Spady; parents, Martin and Esther Griess; in-laws, Gideon and Verna Huber; niece, Brenda Hahn; three brothers-in-law, Allen Huber; Allen Griess; and Duane Dolezal.
